Olympic Complex in London After 4 Years

Many buildings are dedicated to the London 2012 Olympic Games and until now when the Olympic torch lights up in Rio, the British are still struggling to find ways to reuse these works.

British newspapers have used the word “heritage” to talk about all the works in the Stratford. An entire area of 17,000 square meters east of London 4 years ago was completely built, from stadiums, gymnasiums, athletes’ houses, to giant contemporary artworks. British newspapers believe that any city after the Olympics has these legacies. and when the Olympics are closed this year, Rio will have a long-term headache to find a way to take advantage of its heritage.

Specifically, the Olympic stadium only has a stable role since this summer. After 4 years of “up and down”, this season, this will officially be the home of the East London Capital – Westham United. ArcelorMittal Orbit was built with ambition to become a London icon like Effel in Paris is bad. It was classified as an architectural disaster right after its debut in 2012. After four years, this tower was actually used. From this summer, Orbit becomes the world’s longest sliding pipe. According to the Independent, London costs another 3.5 million pounds to repair towers and build sliding pipes. But at least, it is not abandoned now, can sell tickets and the city expects to repay its capital after 5 years.

Compared to the ruins of the Beijing Olympic works, or Athens earlier, according to British media, London’s £ 12 billion in Olympic four years ago cannot be compared to the wastage. No one denies the inspirations of the Olympics, but the price of economics in return is always proven to be too great. Economy Brazil is in a recession phase and the question of $ 12 billion spent in Rio 2016 will be loss or profit. Will this Olympics save Brazil from recession or accelerate this process? This is also an issue that has been reported by the press as much as the Olympic medals.
