Series of Boxing day matches: Too few gifts for London

The most disappointing team was Lampard’s Chelsea. Few would expect the army to be full of excitement after the Tottenham victory in the previous round, can give Southampton 3 points right at home.

This is the match that Chelsea tried to impose the posture. However, in a bad day of the players, Chelsea did not create great pressure on the Southampton field despite superior control of the ball (66% – 34%). Meanwhile, the visitors were playing with a certain posture and effective counter attacks.

31 minutes into the match, Michael Obafemi opened the scoring for the visitors. In the second half, Coach Lampard had two personnel changes when Mason Mount was replaced by Kurt Zouma (46 minutes) and Pulisic replaced Hudson-Odoi (67 minutes).

When the substitution of Chelsea was not effective, 73 minutes, Nathan Redmond fixed the score 2-0 for Southampton.

Losing the match, Chelsea still preserve the 4th position, but if they continue at their current form, they will surely not keep this position for long.

Also disappointing, another famous London team, Arsenal, had a 1-1 draw against a weaker opponent, Bournemouth.

Liverpool’s Senegalese striker Sadio Mane (C) vies with Leicester City’s English defender Ben Chilwell (L0 and Leicester City’s Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu (R) during the English Premier League football match between Leicester City and Liverpool at King Power Stadium in Leicester, central England on December 26, 2019. – Liverpool won the game 4-0. In order to give gifts to the coach in the club debut, the Arsenal players entered the game very determined. However, they did not deploy the attack because from the beginning, Bournemouth chose the annoying pressing play.

In the 35th minute, midfielder Dan Gosling finished close range after a cross from teammate Stacey to open the score for the home team Bournemouth. It was not until the 63rd minute that Arsenal got the equalizer by the striker Aubameyang.

Arsenal ended a day of disappointment and accepted the 11th position in the rankings.

On Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park, the team from the English capital West Ham also had to accept a 1-2 defeat, closing a bad day of competition for 3 of the 4 London teams.

This is the match that all 3 goals cleared in the second half. 57 minutes, Snodgrass opened the scoring for West Ham. Crystal Palace came from behind to win with goals from Cheikhou Kouyaté (68 minutes) and Jordan Ayew (90 minutes).

The only team in London to have fun was Tottenham, with a 2-1 victory at Brighton. However, this was a very difficult victory for Mourinho’s teachers and students, even though they were played at home.

This match, Tottenham does not have the service of striker Son Heung-Min (suspended for 3 matches). In the 37th minute, Brighton’s Webster defender headed home from a free kick to open the scoring for the visitors.

It was not until the second half, when Mourinho directed the students to push the speed, actively pressing, the home team could find their way to the opponent’s net. In the 53rd minute, Harry Kane leveled the score for the home team. Dele Alli set the score for Tottenham in the 73rd minute.

With this victory, Tottenham rose to 5th place and only 3 points behind Chelsea’s.

In the most noticeable match in the Boxing day series between the two top teams in the rankings, it was not very attractive.

At home to King Power, Leicester City lost 4-4 to Liverpool. The 2nd match in a row Leicester faced the top English Premier League teams and this time, Leicester’s weaknesses were more clearly revealed.
Leicester City players repeatedly made mistakes, could not withstand the pressure, while Liverpool was too strong. In Roberto Firmino (minutes 31 and 74), James Milner (minutes 71), Alexander-Arnold (minutes 78).

After the game, Liverpool have far surpassed the team after 13 points and the chance of winning the championship with teachers and coach Jurgen Klopp has never been more clear.

On the gift day, United gave their fans a meaningful gift of a 4 – 1 victory over Newcastle at home.

Coach Sarri reveals his love for London

In an exclusive interview with Sky Sport, Coach Sarri talks about love for London, how he promotes Hazard and why Jorginho is an unexpected leader for the team.

Maurizio Sarri has great memories of his first time living in London. It happened 30 years ago when the Italian military officer went to England to study.

At that time, he thought that his future was in the bank, not the technical bench. But the passion for football is always the same.
Sarri came to Chelsea after having a love for London

“Of course I went to see football. English football at that time was English, and now it is more European. Years ago, when I came here to learn the language, everything changed but London is still charming “.
The current Chelsea manager likes the capital of the fog but admits there is very little time for travel for the second time.

“I love England, now my home. But to London, very rarely do I really relax. I probably only have a little time to relax during the international vacation here”.

Chelsea players adapt well to Sarri’s style

After losing to City in the Community Shield match, Sarri’s Chelsea were unbeaten in every arena. But not only is the result positive, Sarri also made a significant change in the style of the Blues.

The hard work on the training ground paid off, but Sarri admits he was surprised how quickly the Chelsea squad had adapted.
“It is true that it is a different style from last season but this team has a lot of players that fit my play style.”

A central figure in the Chelsea squad is midfielder Jorginho. Not only is the master of the passing ability, this Brazilian-born Italian is also a leader in the dressing room.
Jorginho is a key factor in Sarri’s play

Jorginho really fits the way I like to play. He works hard and very quickly in moving the ball, which is important to us, although I also have Cesc Fabregas, who has similar potential. like Jorginho.
“But he also has a big personality, though it doesn’t look like he looks. He is a mirror on the yard and on the yard as well as for his teammates.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s outstanding star so far is none other than Eden Hazard, who has scored 6 goals in 7 appearances.
Sarri thinks it’s easy to stimulate Hazard

When asked how to motivate Hazard to shine brightly compared to last season, Sarri explained: “It’s easy to stimulate Hazard, as long as you let him have fun.”
“He is very easy, does not need my strategy. He is not affected by the media and what’s happening around. As long as he is happy to play football.

“But you need important goals for important players. And he can improve if he becomes a bit more aggressive and brings the best for himself.”
